Last week was a normal week of work for the most part. I have a recipe that I must share. It's simple and some of you have probably always cooked your green beans this way (I know my daddy has done something similar), but if not, you have to try it!
I got some fresh green beans, or string beans, whatever you want to call them!
After snapping them, I fried a piece of bacon in a pan just to create a small amount of bacon grease. Then I sauteed some onion in there until they were almost done, and next threw the green beans in the pan for a brief moment. Then I seasoned them with a little S&P and a tiny pinch of garlic salt.
Next, boil a pot of water and throw all ingredients of the pan inside- make sure you scrape all the grease (there won't be a ton because the onion and beans will have absorbed most of the small amount there was to begin with). Then cook the beans for 20 minutes-ish until they are at the right crispness for you, with a lid on but vented to let the steam escape. Most of the water will disappear!
DELICIOUS!
