Oh, blepharoplasty!





First day of work!

Well, my career as an RN has officially begun! I am starting to train in pre-op in the department where they do all of the eye surgeries for The Surgery Center. It is going great so far. If you have amps of free time (which I am sure you would love to spend reading about eye surgeries) you should totally check out info on phacoemulsification and blepharoplasty (which sounds like a curse word to me- oh, blepharoplasty!); these are two of our most common procedures. But we call them phacos and blephs. And yes, those are links to Wikipedia, which is so not reliable, but always the first result on Google. All of my co-workers are so friendly and helpful, and the patients are all so darling! For privacy reasons I am not going to write many details about work on here, but I really love the environment I am in. And I really really love wearing scrubs every day.

My hours are super amazing. Yesterday I worked til almost 4:30, but today I got off before lunch. Tonight I am baking with those fresh-picked berries....making a Blueberry Cobbler for Two!!!!!...I will post the recipe (if it's worth posting) after eating!
